Code of Conduct
This code of conduct has been meticulously formulated to serve as a comprehensive set of
guidelines and principles, delineating the expected conduct, ethical standards, and values to
be upheld by students, faculty, staff, and other members of the academic community of this
institution.
I. Code of Conduct for Teachers
1.General Responsibilities:
Teacher should:
- Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of their work.
- Adhere to the professional norms and regulations of the institution.
- Be an active participant in achieving the academic mission and vision of the institution.

- Uphold academic standards and provide quality education to students.
- Be punctual and dedicated in fulfilling teaching duties.
- Serve as role models for students by exhibiting ethical behavior.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to update and enhance their subject
knowledge and teaching methodologies.
- Actively engage in co-curricular, extracurricular endeavors, and community services.
- Engage proactively in professional forums such as academic seminars and conferences and
actively contribute to the expansion of knowledge.
2.Towards Students:
- Foster a supportive and respectful teacher-student relationship that upholds the rights and
dignity of students.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve.
- Avoid favoritism and treat all students equally, regardless of their physical, economic, and
sociocultural conditions.
- Develop a scientific temperament and instill democratic and constitutional values among
students.
- Encourage open communication and active participation of students in class.
- Be approachable and supportive of students' academic and personal development.
- Refrain from any form of harassment or intimidation towards students.
- Create an inclusive environment that accommodates diverse learning styles.
- Be patient while dealing with the concerns and queries of students and provide proper
guidance to resolve them.
3.Towards Students' Guardians:
- Maintain open and transparent communication with parents or guardians for the holistic
improvement of the students.
- Provide regular updates on student behavior, their progress, and performance.
- Set up student-parent bodies and conduct meetings regularly.
- Address parental concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Encourage parental involvement in the educational process and in the various activities of
the institution.
- Collaborate with parents or guardians to identify and address any specific needs or
challenges faced by the student.
4.Towards Colleagues:
Teacher should:
- Collaborate with colleagues for the overall improvement of the institution.
- Share resources and best practices with fellow teachers.
- Provide assistance and support to colleagues when needed.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with other staff members.
- Foster a positive and cooperative work environment.
- Avoid displaying any form of discrimination towards colleagues based on caste, gender,
and other sociocultural factors.
- Seek conflict resolution through appropriate channels.
5.Towards Non-Teaching Staff:
Teacher should:
- Acknowledge non-teaching staff as valued collaborators in the institution's operations and
interact with them in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Provide assistance and support to non-teaching staff as needed.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment with non-teaching staff.
- Resolve conflicts or misunderstandings with non-teaching staff professionally.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with non-teaching staff.
6.Towards Administrative Authorities:
Teacher should:
- Fulfill their professional duties in accordance with institutional policies and guidelines laid
down by administrative authority.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with administrative authorities.
- Follow the established procedures for reporting issues or concerns to the administrative
authority.
- Collaborate with authorities in an ethical manner to implement institutional goals.
- Participate in shaping institutional policies by assuming various roles as given by the
administrative authority.
- Provide timely and accurate information to administrative authority when required.
7.Towards Society:
Teacher should:
- Actively participate in community outreach programs and initiatives.
- Engage in educational and awareness campaigns that contribute to societal development.
- Promote and support community service projects involving students.
- Foster positive relationships with community stakeholders.
- Uphold ethical standards and integrity in all interactions.
- Collaborate with local authorities and community leaders to address educational needs.
- Engage in activities that contribute to the cultural enrichment of the local community.
II. Code of Conduct for Students
- Strictly follow all rules and regulations of the institution.
- Attend all classes regularly and punctually.
- Inform instructors if taking leave or absent from class due to any necessity.
- Treat all members of the academic community with respect and courtesy.
- Be attentive and behave well inside the class.
- Avoid disruptive behavior in classrooms and other learning spaces.
- Behave in a disciplined and dignified manner inside the college campus.
- Do not discriminate anyone based on race, gender, religion, etc., inside the institution and
report any incidents of discrimination or harassment if witnessed.
- Adhere to any dress code policies set by the institution.
- Do not use or possess illegal substances like alcohol and drugs on campus; possession and
use of these substances inside the campus will result in serious punishments.
- Dispose of all waste properly and keep the campus neat and clean.
- Participate in community service and outreach programs and contribute positively to the
local community.
- Make optimal use of academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular facilities of the
institution for their holistic growth.
- Any form of ragging is considered a serious crime and strictly prohibited inside the
college campus.
- It is the duty of the Students’ Union [an elected body]to look after all student-related
activities. Every year, an election on a Parliamentary basis is conducted. The elected
organization shoulders the responsibilities.
- Inappropriate behavior towards female students, threats, or violence against staff or peers
will be treated as severe misconduct.
- Avoid sitting in staircases or circulation areas that could disrupt movement.
- Students must always carry their identity cards while inside the college campus.
- Unauthorized campus celebrations and other functions are prohibited for students.
- Permission from the Head of the institution or designated staff is required to access
academic resources and facilities beyond regular hours or for any special function.
- Any breach of the above rules may result in corrective actions based on the seriousness of
the mistake such as warnings, involvement of parents, or any other appropriate punishments
deemed suitable by the institution.
III. Code of Conduct for Administrative Staff:
- Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with students, teachers, parents, and
colleagues.
- Uphold the reputation and values of the institution.
- Respect and protect the confidentiality of sensitive information regarding students, staff,
and the institution.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with all stakeholders, providing accurate and timely
information.
- Adhere to ethical standards and conduct all administrative tasks with honesty and integrity.
- Collaborate effectively with other administrative staff, teachers, and departments to ensure
smooth operations.
- Adhere to and enforce institutional policies, ensuring a consistent and fair approach.
- Efficiently manage resources, including finances, facilities, and personnel, in accordance
with institutional guidelines, and prevent any misuse of these resources.
- Address conflicts and disputes professionally and in a timely manner, promoting a positive
work environment.
