The College Library Committee of Cooperative Arts and Science College,
Madayi, organized a workshop titled "Cultivating Soft Skills for Outreach."
The event took place on the 7th of September, 2019, at 10:30 AM in the
Seminar Hall. The session was conducted by Manoj Kumar, a UGC Librarian from
Nehru Arts and Science College, Kanhangad.The primary goal of the workshop
was to equip participants with essential soft skills necessary for effective
outreach. Soft skills are critical in fostering successful communication,
building professional relationships, and enhancing the overall impact of
outreach activities.The workshop on "Cultivating Soft Skills for Outreach"
successfully provided participants with essential tools and techniques to

The Co-operative Arts and Science College Madayi organized an orientation on
the effective use of library resources on September 2, 2021, at 10:00 am.
Held online via Google Meet, the event aimed to guide NLIST resource users
in maximizing library resources effectively. The inaugural address was given
by Sri. Cherian K George, College Librarian of Union Christian College,
Aluva. The keynote address was delivered by Sri. M.K. Rajan, Manager, with
Dr. G. Premkumar, the Principal, presiding over the event. Smt. Varsha K, a
UGC Librarian, served as the resource person, providing valuable insights
into utilizing library resources efficiently.The orientation significantly
enhanced students' and faculty's research and learning capabilities,
promoting a more effective and resourceful academic environment. The event's
success underscores the college's dedication to supporting academic
excellence through optimal library use.
The Co-operative Arts and Science College, Madayi, celebrated National
Library Week by organizing an orientation on the National Digital Library
and online resources on November 19, 2021, at 7 pm via Google Meet. The
session aimed to familiarize participants with the National Digital Library
of India (NDLI), a virtual repository of learning resources supporting all
academic levels, disciplines, and access needs, including differently-abled
leamers. Sri. Humayoon Kabir P, a retired UGC Librarian from Govt. Brennen
College, Thalassery, served as the resource person.खThe orientation was
highly effective, enhancing participants' understanding and use of digital
library resources, thereby promoting more efficient and inclusive learning
practices. The event underscored the college's commitment to leveraging
digital resources for academic excellence and inclusivity.
The College Library Committee of the Co-operative Arts and Science College,
Madayi, is hosting an event titled "Introduction to E-Learning Resources" on
January 8, 2022, at 11:00 am in the seminar hall. This session is part of
the college's ongoing efforts to enhance digital literacy and resource
utilization among students and faculty. The resource person for the event is
Ms. Ramya C, a UGC Librarian from Sree Narayana College, Kannur.This
orientation aims to familiarize attendees with various e-learning resources,
enabling them to better access and utilize these tools for academic and
research purposes. By introducing these resources, the college aims to
support a more effective and efficient learning environment, promoting
academic excellence through digital means.
The College Library of Co-operative Arts and Science College, Madayi, in
collaboration with NSS, hosted "World Environment Day Celebration"on 6 june
2022, at 1:30 pm in the seminar hall. The event aimed to enhance
environmental awareness among students and faculty. The resource person, Sri
N.K. Govindan, retired principal of Government College Payyannur, delivered
an insightful session on carbon emissions and related environmental issues.
He emphasized the urgent need to reduce carbon footprints and adopt
sustainable practices.The session included practical steps for energy
conservation, waste management, and the use of renewable energy sources.
Participants engaged in discussions on promoting environmental
sustainability and implementing green practices. The event was
well-received, inspiring attendees to commit to environmental stewardship.
This initiative highlights the college's dedication to fostering a green
campus and promoting environmental consciousness within its community.
On January 23, 2024, a Book Donation Ceremony was held at the Co-operative
Arts and Science College, Madayi, in collaboration with the Rotary Club
Payangadi. The event, aimed at enhancing library resources, took place in
the seminar hall at 3:00 PM.
The program began with a welcome address by Smt. Rejina P.V., followed by a
Presidential Address by Sri. Rtn. Ajayakumar, President of the Rotary Club
Payangadi. Rtn. M.D. Dr.SethShivankar, the district governor, led the
inauguration, and Sri. Johny M.V., the college Principal, delivered the
Keynote Address.
During the Book Donation Ceremony, books were officially handed over to Smt.
C.P. Kamalakshi, Director of CAS College, Madayi. Sri. Phalgunan K.K. and
Dr. Rajasree K. offered felicitations, followed by a Vote of Thanks by Smt.
Varsha K., UGC Librarian.
The event strengthened the community’s commitment to supporting educational
resources and promoting knowledge sharing.
The Co-operative Arts and Science College, Madayi, in association with IQAC,
organized a UGC NET Coaching session for Paper I on January 29, 2024, at
2:30 PM in the college seminar hall. The event was coordinated by the PG
Departments of Commerce and History to support postgraduate students
preparing for the UGC NET exam.
The session was led by Mr. Muhammed Salih C, Assistant Professor from Sir
Syed College, Thaliparamba. His expertise provided valuable insights and
strategies for tackling Paper I of the UGC NET, covering essential topics
and study techniques.
The coaching session aimed to enhance students' readiness and confidence in
the exam, aligning with the college’s commitment to academic excellence and
professional development. The event was well-received, with enthusiastic
participation from students.
The Central Library of the Co-operative Arts and Science College, Madayi,
organized an Essay Writing Competition on 12th February 2024, aiming to
encourage creativity and critical thinking among students. The competition
was open to students from all departments, with topics centered around
current affairs and social issues.
The event was judged by Assistant prof. Sindhu K.V. from the Malayalam
Department and Assistant prof. Abhilash from the English Department, who
assessed the essays based on originality, clarity, and depth of thought.
Tincy from the History Department emerged as the winner of the competition.
This event proved to be a successful platform for students to showcase their
writing skills and engage with important issues, reflecting the college's
commitment to fostering academic excellence and intellectual development.
On August 6, 2024, the Central Library of the Co-operative Arts and Science
College, Madayi, organized a Library Orientation Program for first-year
undergraduate students. The objective of the session was to introduce
students to the library’s information resources and services to support
their academic growth.
The program began with a Welcome Address by Smt. Varsha K., UGC Librarian,
followed by a Presidential Address by Dr. Rajasree, IQAC Coordinator, who
emphasized the importance of effective resource utilization. Sri. Johny
M.V., the Principal of the college, inaugurated the session.
Dr.Linsha M., UGC Librarian from Iritty MG College, conducted the main
orientation session, guiding students through various library resources,
including digital databases, reference collections, and research tools. She
explained the methods for accessing these resources and encouraged students
to fully utilize the library for their studies.
The orientation provided valuable insights, preparing students to make the
most of the library's offerings and enhancing their research skills.
